Murder accused allowed to attend sister’s wedding

The High Court of Bombay at Goa Thursday granted permission to the accused in the British backpacker’s murder case in 2017 to attend his sister’s wedding under police escort.

The accused, Vikat Bhagat, will be taken under police escort to the venue in the morning and handed over to the Colvale jail authorities after the ceremony, the court ordered.

The order came after Bhagat applied for an interim bail to attend his sister’s marriage at Fatorda scheduled on February 24.
