UPA leader sought Gadkari help to topple govt?
NAGPUR:FORMER BJP president Nitin Gadkari reportedly claimed Thursday he was approached by a big UPA leader for help to destabilise the government. At a function here to rename a park,he reportedly said,I told the leader I cannot make a false promise. Making false promise is not in my DNA. Asked to elaborate,Gadkari told the ABP Majha channel that aired the story Friday that he would not make a political comment.
Hasan Ali bail plea rejected
Patna:A district court rejected Friday bail plea of Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khan in a two-year-old fake passport case. Ali is lodged in a Mumbai jail. A case was filed against him in December 2010 by a passport official here after it was detected he was issued a passport by the regional office in 2010 on the basis of fake documents.
Ansari lawyer in Nashik case dead
Nashik:Lawyer Milan Joshi,appointed by a special court to represent terror suspect Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal in a conspiracy case,is dead. Family members said Joshi died Thursday at his residence following a brief illness. He was 52 and is survived by wife and two sons.
State allots Rs 340 cr for Kumbh Mela
Nashik:The state government had set aside Rs 340 crore for Nashik and Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela 2015-16,CM Prithviraj Chavan said here. Addressing a function Thursday,he said there was no alternative but to distribute water in drought-affected areas from the stock available in the state.
