Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Tuesday spoke in support of the attack on Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan by right-wing activists for his Kashmir remark.

“I praised the people who attacked him (Bhushan). No mercy should be shown to the people who advocate the division of the country,” Thackeray said, addressing a gathering in central Mumbai via video-conference on the occasion of the first anniversary of the party’s youth wing Yuva Sena.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray too echoed his father’s sentiments on the issue.

“People advocating such views deserve such punishment,” Uddhav said.

Bhushan was beaten up by some right-wing activists in his chamber in the Supreme Court last week after he advocated plebiscite in Kashmir.

The Sena chief said he will always call the country ‘Hindustan’ and not India,as it was a name given by the Britishers. He also voiced concern over corruption and various scams that have taken rocked the country recently.

Thackeray further said that he will never write his autobiography.

“I will not write my autobiography. People should do something so that others write their biography,” he told the Yuva Sena activists.
