SP will not bail out UPA: Akhilesh Yadav

He says his party supported UPA earlier as it wanted to keep BJP out of power.

Samajwadi Party would not bail out the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in case it falls under its own weight,the party’s Uttar Pradesh chief Akhilesh Yadav said today.

“If the Congress government falls under its own weight,SP would not save it,” Yadav told reporters here.

The SP leader said a decision in this regard had been taken at the recent meeting of the parliamentary board of the party.

Asked why SP had extended support to the UPA government earlier,Akhilesh,son of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav,said it was to keep BJP out of power.

On Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the state of affairs in UP fills him with anger,he said the Mayawati government would not be in existence today even if one central government department was really angry.

He said SP was far ahead of Congress in its yatra with the party already covering 100 Assembly constituencies in the state. Besides the rath yatra,cycle yatras were also going on,he said.
