Mamata Banerjee alleges phone-tapping in the past

Alleging that aberrations occurred in her SIM card,she said her phone malfunctioned due to tapping.

In the midst of row between Centre and the Trinamool Congress over FDI in retail,Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today attacked the Union Home ministry and said that she was a victim of phone-tapping in the past.

“I was in the central government. I know anybody’s phone can be tapped with the help of the Home ministry,” Banerjee told reporters at the state secretariat.

She said that at the height of her movement at Nandigram nearly five years ago,”My phone was also tapped.”

Alleging that aberrations occurred in her SIM card,she said that when she used to cross Kolaghat to enter East Midnapore district “my phone malfunctioned because of tapping.”

Centre rejects Mamata’s charge that her phone was tapped

The Centre today rejected West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s charge that her phone was tapped when she was leading a movement at Nandigram nearly five years ago.

“We have not tapped anyone’s phones,” Shinde told reporters here reacting to Banerjee’s allegation.

Earlier in the day,Banerjee attacked the Union Home Ministry saying she was a victim of phone-tapping in the past.
