Union Home Minister Amit Shah Tuesday said clarity is “most important” in drafting laws so that no grey area is left behind, which attracts intervention of the judiciary.

“Intervention of judiciary will occur only where there is a grey area; lesser the grey area, lesser the intervention,” he said at a training session for government officials.

He said that a badly drafted legislation creates a lot of confusion and several court cases.

“A clearly written legislation fulfils the state’s objectives,” he added. Shah gave the example of Article 370 and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
