At least 46 activists of right-wing Hindu organisations,hanging around public places to create trouble on the Valentine’s Day,were detained on Saturday from Gwalior and Bhopal,police said.
“Thirty-five Shiv Sainiks were arrested after they stormed into a zoo,Gandhi Prani Udhinyan,in Inderganj police station area in Gwalior looking for lovelorn couples,” said Gwalior Superintendent of Police U K Suryavanshi.
In Bhopal,police took into preventive custody seven Shiv Sainiks and four activists of Sanskriti Bachao Manch (SBM) who were hanging around Madhya Pradesh Higher Secondary Board office and Chinar Park allegedly to create trouble,Additional Superintendent of Police (City) A K Pandey said.
“We made these arrests to prevent trouble,” he added. The arrests in Gwalior and Bhopal were made under Section 151 of CrPC,under which a person can be taken into custody to prevent commission of offence.
