Suspended MLA Rawal named BJP gen secy

BJP MLA Jaykumar Rawal,who was among the legislators suspended for allegedly beating up a policeman on the premises of the Maharashtra Legislature,has been made one of the general secretaries by state unit president Devendra Fadnavis.

Besides Rawal,BJP MLA Chainsukh Sancheti,the elder brother of Ajay Sancheti who is purportedly a close aide of former BJP president Nitin Gadkari,has been made one of the 14 vice-presidents of the state unit.

Chainsukh Sancheti represents Buldhana Assembly constituency in eastern Maharashtra.

A party statement issued on Tuesday said the new team comprising 14 vice-presidents,six general secretaries and 15 secretaries would have a fixed tenure of three years.

The new team has been put in place in view of the Assembly and general elections slated to be held in 2014.
