Shutdown in Srinagar for fourth day

The agitation by businessman in the heart of the city demanding removal of a CRPF camp from Lal Chowk intensified with a federation of traders joining the stir.

Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) joined the agitation which saw suspension of business activities for the fourth day today.

“We are supporting the demand of businessmen of Lal Chowk,” KTMF President Mohammad Yousuf Khan said.

He said since the bunker was installed in Palladium cinema,more than ten incidents have occurred resulting in loss of life and property.

Business activities in the area came to a standstill on Wednesday when militants exploded grenades and opened fire on CRPF camp in the area before they took shelter in a hotel.

The two militants holed up in the hotel were gunned down yesterday. However,business activities could not resume in view of combing operation.
