Shopkeeper shot dead in Bhiwani,four booked

A shopkeeper was shot dead late on Sunday evening at Paluwas village in Haryana’s Bhiwani district.

A shopkeeper was shot dead late on Sunday evening at Paluwas village in Haryana’s Bhiwani district.

The incident took place when Ravinder (32),who runs a confectionary shop in the busy marketplace of the village,was returning home. According to the police,four persons came in a car and opened fire at Ravinder. He was shot at from point blank range and died on the spot.

Ravinder’s brother Karambir told police that after closing their shop,they were returning home. “We had barely walked a few steps,when a few youth came in a car and started misbehaving with Ravinder. When I intervened and tried to ascertain the cause for which they were misbehaving with my brother,they assaulted us. When we retaliated,one of them took out a pistol and shot my brother dead. He was hit in the chest and died on the spot,” Karambir said.

Based on Karambir’s complaint,the police have booked Arun,Dharmender,Sonu and their unidentified accomplice on charges of murder and under the provisions of Arms Act.

“We have booked those named in the complaint lodged by the victim’s brother Karambir. Raids are being conducted to arrest those absconding,” said Sub-Inspector Leela Ram,acting SHO of Sadar police station in Bhiwani.
