Retired policeman convicted in illegal confinement case

Special CBI Court of Judicial Magistrate,Japinder Singh,convicted retired cop Joginder Singh at Patiala Friday in an illegal confinement case that dates back to March 1993 when one Balwinder Singh of Partap Nagar locality in Patiala was allegedly picked up by police and kept in illegal confinement. Joginder was working was an inspector with Punjab police at that time. The court acquitted then DSP Ajaib Singh Kaleka and ASIs Hazoor Singh and Sham Lal. The quantum of punishment will be announced on Monday.
