Raj Thackeray meets ailing uncle

Days after Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray publicly spoke about his deteriorating health,his nephew and MNS chief Raj went to meet him on Friday.

Raj drove his Mercedes from his Dadar house to his octogenarian uncle’s Bandra residence on Friday morning and spent over 75 minutes there.

Even though what transpired between the two was not disclosed,sources in the MNS claimed that the meeting was only to enquire about Balasaheb’s health. The two also discussed the recently published book by the Shiv Sena,which is a collection of cartoons drawn by the elder Thackeray in the past 50 years,they claimed.

Bal Thackeray had on Wednesday spoken about his failing health and requested the Maharashtrian public to stand behind his son Uddhav and grandson Aditya,who lead the Shiv Sena now.

The frequent meetings between the Thackeray clan over the past few months have raised speculation of rapprochement and probable unification of the two parties. After walking out from the Sena,Raj had not stepped into Matoshree — where Balasaheb and Uddhav live.

However,the ailment of Uddhav,who underwent an angioplasty in July,brought the two families together.
