Do you think that the celebrities who use social media have an edge when it comes to connecting with the youth?

@iansomerhalder tweets “THANK YOU FOR RETWEETING. YOU GUYS ROCK-keep going! Explore the site- it is fun.” Any follower browsing through Ian’s tweets would see that the heartthrob Ian thanked his fans, and would delightedly retweet. Result – fans feel that Ian is one amongst them. The new-comer Kapil Sharma is a household favourite as a stand-up comedian. Recently his reality show’s set burnt down. He kept his fans updated on Facebook as to how “they were all shaken” and promised to “be back soon”. His fans poured ample amount of sympathy under the status updates. Result – even after large-scale devastation,Kapil is the apple of everyone’s eye. Celebrities are celebrities, because we,the viewers have made them that. They’ve got to keep us pleased and satisfied at all points of time, because fans are true to their name, they fan the hottest thing. Once the hot celeb cools down, they go find the next hot thing to fan. And what could be a better way than Facebook and Twitter to be in touch with us?
