Appointments of hundreds of pharmacists under National Rural Health Mission’s Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) in Madhya Pradesh have come under the scanner following allegations that results of the online examination were allegedly manipulated by increasing marks of a few candidates.
Some of the candidates who were not selected in the examination conducted by MPOnline, a portal that the state government runs through a joint venture, on Wednesday released information sourced through the RTI that showed the marks of some suspected candidates were allegedly increased to make them eligible.
While most of the students were denied information under the transparency law, few succeeded in getting it through separate applications that showed marks of at least seven candidates were changed weeks after questions were raised over their appointment.
The examination was held on July 13 and the results were declared on July 18.
The affected candidates and the Congress alleged that when the first list of selected candidates was released it had the application number, candidate’s name and the allotted district, but not the marks.
Panna-based Abhilash Tamrakar, one of the affected candidates, got an RTI reply by post in February this year that showed candidates who had secured less marks were selected and many who had scored more were ignored.
Jabalpur-based Damodar Vishwakarma got a reply in May that showed the marks scored by the alleged suspects had inexplicably increased.
When reached for comments about the allegations, an official of MPOnline and a state government spokesman promised to get back but did not till late on Wednesday night.
