Makkar vows not to end protests till Sajjan is jailed

President of Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Avtar Singh Makkar, who joined the protests by the Sikh outfits in Ludhiana on Sunday, said the ongoing agitation against the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar would continue till justice is done in the anti-Sikh riots.

Addressing the protesters,Makkar said: “The fight will not stop till both the culprits —Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler (he has not been acquitted) are put behind the bars.”

He accused the CBI of being “nothing more than a puppet in the hands of the Congress.” He said the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar in the riots cases was an “effort” on the part of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to save former Prime Minister and her husband Rajiv Gandhi from “getting exposed for his role in the riots”.

“Everybody knows that once Sajjan is punished, the name of Rajiv Gandhi and other Congress leaders will ultimately crop us as he will not remain silent. I just want to ask if all other culprits are getting punished then why not Sajjan? Why not Jagdish Tytler (another accused in the riots cases)?” said Makkar.

Amarjit Singh, senior vice-president of Danga Peerit Welfare Society said the protests will only become bigger and stronger till Congress leaders like Tytler and Sajjan are jailed in the riots cases.
