The JD(U)’s official nominees and rebel leaders are headed for a showdown in the Rajya Sabha bypolls with the BJP likely to side with JD(U) rebels and extend support Independent candidates Sabir Ali and Anil Sharma. Bypolls are being held for the three seats vacated by Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Ram Kripal Yadav and Ramvilas Paswan.
While JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav may get walkover, party’s nominee and former CM’s cultural adviser Pawan Verma will face Independents Anil Sharma and Dilip Jaiswal. The third seat will see a straight fight between JD(U) nominee and party national general secretary Ghulam Rasool Baliyawi and former MP Sabir Ali.
