American body condemns ban

US-based North American Punjabi Association (NAPA),while condemning the ban imposed on ‘Sadda Haq’,said it would gain nothing,but create a controversy. “Though the film has been banned in Punjab,Haryana,Chandigarh and Delhi,it is being screened abroad,” a press release issued on Sunday stated. NAPA spokesperson Satnam Singh Chahal said the film was based on police abuses and militant uprisings in Punjab during the 1980s and ‘90s.
