Eight persons,including seven minors were booked by the Chandigarh Police,on Thursday,for allegedly threatening and sodomising an eight-year-old boy residing on the Panjab University campus.
On Thursday,the victims father,a Panjab University employee lodged a complaint at the Sector 11 police station alleging that eight people from his locality had sodomised and threatened his son.
According to the police,the complainant alleged that a few days back when his son was playing near the house,when the accused,who also reside in the same locality,called his son.
He further accused them of forcefully taking the boy into a house. They allegedly gagged his mouth and sodomised him. They have also been accused of recording the whole episode on a phone and later threatened him (victim) of dire consequences.
The complainant alleged that he came to know about the incident after the accused circulated the MMS and it reached a well wisher of the family who showed it to him.
The victim’s father then lodged a complaint with the police against the accused.
Six accused,five minors and Vijay Kumar (19),a driver in a private firm have been rounded up.
Speaking to Newsline,Inspector Gurmukh Singh,Station House Officer(SHO),Sector 11 Police Station said,We have registered a case and have rounded up six of the accused while two are presently on the run. We have also seized the mobile phones and will be probing the MMS angle which is yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile,the accused have been booked on charges of unnatural offence,kidnapping,criminal intimidation and conspiracy.
The SHO added that the accused will also be booked under the IT Act if the making of MMS is confirmed during the investigations.
