Security agencies along the International Border (IB) with Pakistan have been put on high alert after receiving a warning on possible intrusion by terrorists into India. Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba militants may try crossing over to India from several points along the international border with Pakistan abutting Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, the alert says.
As per the alert, which has been sent to the security agencies, including Army formations under the Western Command, these terrorists are expected to take specific routes across nallahs and riverine tracts along the Jammu-Punjab border with Pakistan.

Highly placed sources in Western Command said the military and BSF units in the area had been alerted to keep an eye out for possible intrusions.
The Army and other paramilitary agencies are also conducting area domination patrols at night. Several tiers of security rings have been put in place on the Punjab border with Pakistan, on the lines of the measures in place in Jammu area, to ensure that even if the intruders manage to slip through one tier, they can be nabbed in the subsequent one.
