2 held for rape bid in Uttar Pradesh

Police said on Tuesday night Babloo and Pawan lured the Class V girl into their room with food. They bolted the door and allegedly tried to rape her.

When the girl did not return home for nearly an hour, her elder sister went to the first floor and found her with the bothers. She alerted her family, who took the two men to the police station. The duo were badly beaten on the way by locals and family members.

“Babloo and Pawan have been arrested and sent to jail under various sections of the IPC and SC/ST Act,” said S K Sinha, in-charge of the police station.
