He will be in conversation with The Indian Express Group Executive Director Anant Goenka and Diplomatic Editor Shubhajit Roy.

New York-based Zakaria, who has previously been a guest at Express e.Adda in January 2021, is the author of Age of Revolutions (2024), Ten Lessons For a Post-Pandemic World (2020), The Post-American World (2008) and The Future of Freedom (2007) among other books that blend academic rigour and journalistic immediacy.

Since its debut in 2008, his weekly show Fareed Zakaria GPS has featured interviews with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Zakaria has regularly hosted primetime specials for CNN, including documentaries on US history and foreign leaders. His television work has won him a Peabody Award and two Emmys. He was named a “Top 10 Global Thinker of the Last 10 Years” by Foreign Policy magazine in 2019, and Esquire called him “the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation.” In 2010, India awarded him the Padma Bhushan, one of its highest civilian honours, and in 2022, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded him the Order of Merit.

Zakaria has a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, a doctorate in political science from Harvard University, and has received numerous honorary degrees.

Express Adda is a series of informal interactions with newsmakers in the presence of a select audience.
