Officials said that the security forces and the police have launched relentless operations in Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts, resulting in encounters with terrorists from time to time there, including nearly half a dozen in Kishtwar district alone during the past six months.
In April, two terrorists were killed by the security forces during an operation in the Chhatru area.
There had been encounters between security forces and the terrorists on August 11-12, but the latter managed to escape.
Two soldiers, including a JCO, were killed and two were injured in an encounter with terrorists in the Chhatru area on September 13 last year.
