A similar forecast was issued for the Thane and Raigad districts as well; however, for the Palghar district, chances of heavy rainfall have been predicted on October 8. Scientists from the weather agency have maintained that the cyclone poses no threat to the coast of Maharashtra at present. Impact in Gujarat, Maharashtra: The IMD has forecast rough to very rough sea conditions, squally weather, and high wind speeds ranging between 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph at the Gujarat-Maharashtra coast till Tuesday. Wind speeds from 60-100 kmph will prevail till about Monday. Fisherfolk have been warned against going into the Northwest Arabian Sea region till Tuesday. The Maharashtra Government has instructed district administrations to activate their disaster management systems, prepare evacuation plans for citizens in coastal and low-lying areas, issue public advisories, advise against sea travel, and maintain safety during heavy rains. The cyclone is likely to move west-southwestwards and reach northwest and adjoining west central Arabia Sea by Sunday and is likely to recurve and move east-northeastwards from Monday morning, weakening gradually.
