Three members of a family were stabbed to death at their home in Tajganj area by four armed men on Sunday night. As per reports,Guman Singh (35),wife Kamlesh, daughter Maya (15),son Vishnu (5) and niece Rajni were sleeping in a room when, according to Maya, three masked men entered the room around 12.30 pm.
They attacked Guman,Kamlesh and Rajni while Maya along with her brother,Vishnu, managed to lock themselves in the adjoining room. After stabbing the three to death, the men fled through the backdoor.
Senior police officers including Inspector General of Police G P Sharma and DIG/SSP Prem Prakash went to the spot and took stock of the situation. Police believe that Akshay Solanki alias Pinto, who had lived as a tenant with the family, might be behind the murder. Akshay had apparently been in a relation with Maya. Under the family’s pressure,he had evacuated the place around four days ago and might have committed the murders to avenge humiliation.
Guman’s youngest brother Shatrughan allegedly saw Akshay and his friend Devender speeding away from the house on a Pulsar after the incident. Initially,Maya had claimed that there were only three men but later informed her uncle that there had been four. She allegedly saw the face of one of the men when his mask fell off.
Guman’s younger brother,Devendra, said that he had received a phone call from one Raju around a week ago warning that Akshay would abduct Maya. Prakash informed that the case had been almost solved and a manhunt had been launched.
