A local court on Wednesday adjourned to September 17 hearing in the case of rape and murder of a BPO employee by a cab driver.

When the case, going on since 2005,came up for hearing before the 11th Fast Track Court,Judge B V Guddali posted it to September 17 as the accused Shiva Kumar could not be produced in court due to illness.

The incident,in which BPO employee Pratibha Srikanthamur Srikanthamurthy was allegedly raped and murdered in December 2005,forced many BPO firms to have a relook at Human Resource Management rules as the cab driver was employed by the firm.

So far 80 witnesses have been examined in the case.
