Man held for molesting step-daughter

Unable to bear the trauma,the girl informed her mother about it,who then filed a police complaint.

A man was today arrested for allegedly molesting his teenaged step-daughter here,police said. The accused,Raees Khan (30),a daily wager,used to molest his 14-year-old step daughter at their house in Azad Nagar area here when the victim’s mother used to go out for some work,said Sanyogitaganj police inspector Shyam Babu Sharma,who is the investigating officer in the case.

Khan had also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she revealed about the crime to anyone,he said.

Unable to bear the trauma,the girl informed her mother about it,who then filed a police complaint this morning following which Khan was arrested. The girl has been sent for medical examination,Sharma said.

The accused has been booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty),506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the Child Sexual Exploitation Act,he added. Khan was later produced before the chief judicial magistrate court which sent him to jail.
