Custody of accused in Dara Singh fake encounter case extended

A local court today extended the judicial custody of four policemen accused in the alleged fake encounter of criminal Dara Singh till May 13.

The accused,Inspectors Nisar Khan and Naresh Sharma,Assistant Sub Inspector Surendra Singh and Sub Inspector Satyanarayan Godarawere,were produced in the CBI court where their judicial custody was extended,court sources said.

They were arrested by the CBI last month for their alleged role in the fake encounter which took place here in October,2006.

The case was handed over to CBI last year following a Supreme Court order. Dara Singh’s family members had alleged that the encounter which took place in Mansarover area here was a fake one.
