Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Highlights: Nitish will not be made Bihar CM if NDA voted to power, claims Tejashwi Yadav

Ahead of assembly polls in Bihar, the Election Commission on Friday issued an advisory to political parties against the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools in political campaigns, saying it is a deep threat and challenge because of its ability to masquerade as the truth.

After issuing guidelines in 2024 and January this year, the poll authority came out with an advisory largely reiterating its earlier instructions.

Depicting political leaders making electorally sensitive messages using AI is contaminating the level-playing field in the electoral arena, the advisory said.--PTI

Addressing an intellectuals' gathering in Hajipur, Union Minister and BJP chief J P Nadda alleged that Opposition parties want to form government in Bihar with help of infiltrators.

He also said that there are no 'vote chori' allegations now by opposition parties after the Election Commission sought affidavit to support the Opposition's charges.

Asserting that Bihar is still a "poor" state despite the 20 years of rule by the JD(U)-led NDA in the state, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday claimed that CM Nitish Kumar will not be made the chief minister if the ruling alliance is again voted to power.

Yadav also alleged that Kumar has been hijacked by the BJP, and two people from Gujarat - ostensibly referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah - are "controlling" Bihar.--PTI

The CPI (ML) Liberation will carry out a 'Sankalp yatra' in the Bhojpur area of Bihar on October 26 to mark the 15th death anniversary of its Dalit leader Ram Naresh Ram, and will also launch its 'Sankalp Patra' for the upcoming assembly polls, party sources said.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist -Leninist) Liberation's Sankalp Patra will stand as a guarantee for implementing the manifesto of the Mahagatbandhan, they said.

Ram, popularly known as Parasji, was a member of the Bihar assembly between 1995 and 2010, and one of the founder members of the CPI(ML).

October 26 marks his 15th death anniversary.

In light of the recent concluded Special Intensive Revision in the state and the upcoming polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Not a single infiltrator will be allowed to remain in Bihar and other parts of country."

Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah claimed that Bihar's Siwan suffered due to terror by gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin during Lalu and Rabri Devi's regime.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Misa Bharti on Friday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Bihar for election rallies at the government's expense but never speaks about the development of the state.

Speaking to reporters in Danapur, Bharti accused the Prime Minister of focusing solely on targeting her family rather than addressing issues concerning Bihar's progress.

"PM Narendra Modi comes to Bihar for election rallies at government expense. Have you ever heard him speak about Bihar? He only makes allegations against our family and my father. They have no vision for Bihar," the RJD leader said.--ANI

"A new era in women's empowerment will begin in Bihar on November 14 when NDA is voted back to power," PM Modi told party workers on Thursday.

"We are moving fast towards eradicating Naxalism and Maoist terrorism in Bihar," he said.

"Need to create technology, start-up hubs in Bihar; youth will no longer migrate outside and earn their livelihood within state...We all need to be amongst people 24x7 for next 20 days," he added. --PTI

"No one understands better the power of people's vote than the brothers and sisters of Bihar," PM Modi said as he appealed to the state's youth to visit every household and urge voters to exercise their franchise.

"Workers of all NDA parties should campaign together to spread awareness among voters about government schemes in Bihar," he added.

BJP chief J P Nadda on Thursday said that the assembly elections in Bihar is a fight between 'Vikaas' (development) of the NDA and 'Vinaash' (destruction) of the INDIA bloc.

Addressing a rally in Aurangabad district, Nadda lashed out at the Congress, accusing it of being a "parasitic party that finishes off its junior alliance partners".

The senior BJP leader attacked the RJD, saying the Lalu Prasad-led party stands for 'Rangdari' (extortion), 'Jungle raj' (anarchy) and 'Dadagiri' (intimidation).

Making light of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's promise to provide employment to youngsters and check out-migration, he said such promises of the RJD reminded him of the party's alleged involvement in the land-for-jobs scam.

Criticising the RJD's poll promise of providing a government job to every family in Bihar, Nadda sought to know from where would funds be generated to pay the salaries.

He also lambasted the RJD for giving a ticket to gangster-turned-politician, the late Md Shahabuddin's son Osama Shahab in the upcoming polls, stating it showed how concerned the party is for Bihar.--PTI

The Congress on Thursday said "vote theft" was a direct attack on democracy and the rights of the poor, and the people will teach the BJP a stern lesson as they have understood its intentions.

The party made the fresh attack in the light of the latest revelation by a Karnataka SIT zeroing in on at least six suspects allegedly involved in vote theft in the state's Aland Assembly segment.

In a post on X, the Congress claimed that with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) finding "evidence" of Rs 80 being paid to delete each voter from the Aland seat, a major scam had come to light.--PTI
