(File).Eid-e-Milad and Thiruvonam Bank Holiday 2025: Public-sector banks (PSBs) and private banking institutions will be closed today, Friday, September 5, on account of Eid-e-Nabi and Thiruvonam, as designated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its 2025 holiday calendar.
Bank holidays in India are determined by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Negotiable Instruments Act, including RTGS holidays and other regional and national holidays. Additionally, there are mandatory weekly days off on the second Saturday and Sunday of each month.
In September, there are a total of 15 bank holidays designated for September 2025, following the RBI calendar for the year 2025.
