Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled for February 2025, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal announced that the Delhi government cabinet has given a go-ahead for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana.
The 70-member Delhi assembly will go into polls most likely by February 2024, with the dates yet to be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The scheme was included in the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 and was proposed by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal with a ₹2,000 crore budget allocated for the same.
With an aim to improve the quality of life of underprivileged women, this scheme is designed to offer monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to eligible women in Delhi.
“I had promised ₹1000 per month for women of Delhi. And I am happy to announce that CM Atishi’s cabinet has approved this scheme today. Now women can register and avail this scheme,” Kejriwal stated to the press on December 12.
He further added that it is expected to increase to ₹2,100 if AAP returns to power in the upcoming elections. Here’s all you need to know about the scheme.
