Due to pollution, we see many patients experiencing respiratory issues like throat and nasal irritation, eye problems, skin irritation, dry cough, and even viral infections. The elderly, often having underlying conditions like asthma or COPD and lower immunity, are more affected by weather changes. They suffer from issues like cough, shortness of breath, and phlegm.

What precautions should the elderly take during this pollution season?

Wearing masks and maintaining hygiene, as learned from the COVID period, can prevent respiratory problems. Elderly individuals should wear masks when outdoors and limit their outings for the next 8-10 days. Steam and home remedies like kadha with antioxidants can boost immunity.
