The new spinoff starring Anna Cathcart (Kitty), takes her to the vibrant city of Seoul, where she is determined to get closer to the love of her life, Choi Min-young (Dae), and find solace in the memories of her late mother. With each step, Kitty reassures herself and is seen holding onto the belief that this journey will bring her the answers.

However, to her great surprise, Kitty’s experience in Seoul turns out to be far from what she expected. Instead of warm encounters, she encounters unfriendly people and faces heartbreak on her very first night.

Coming back to the Emily In Paris charm–Kitty, much like Emily, discovers herself feeling isolated in a new city, only to realize that the man she had hoped would bring happiness into her life is already in a committed relationship. But, as expected, there’s a twist that does not add any layer of intrigue to the story.

Kitty believes that she has become a master matchmaker, based on her perception of uniting Lara Jean and Peter. She takes on the role of cupid for her friends, attempting to set them up on romantic adventures.

But hold onto your seats because the fifth episode holds a mind-blowing revelation (For Kitty, not the audience), and without revealing any spoilers, let’s just say that Kitty might return to Portland with not just a boyfriend, but also cherished memories and the surprising secrets of her mother, her mother’s best-friend and of course Kitty herself.

The unfolding of her tale will surely not keep you on the edge of your seat as you can see every twist in the tale a mile off. The only thing that kept me interested was the the anticipation of a possible appearance by Lara Jean and Peter.

However, one might dive into the electrifying world of K-pop with the exciting soundtrack of XO Kitty. SEVENTEEN’s Hot and Darling+, BTS’ Telepathy, Stray Kids, TWICE, ITZY, Park Hye-jin, BLACKPINK’s powerful anthem Pink Venom, Momoland’s BAAM, TWICE, Wonho’s BEST SHOT and Jeon Somi’s XOXO, all take the center stage in this Netflix show.
