Singham Again is the fifth installment of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe franchise that, as expected, follows DCP Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) as he embarks on a cross-country mission. Drawing inspiration heavily from the Ramayana, the narrative brings together Singham along with a formidable team of law enforcers, including Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone), Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh), and ACP Satya (Tiger Shroff). Together, they face their most daunting challenge yet– the ruthless Zubair Hafeez AKA Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor), who had abducted Avni Kamat (Kareena Kapoor Khan).

Mother’s Instinct
Lionsgate Play

Does a mother really know best? Psychological thriller Mother’s Instinct, Benoît Delhomme’s directorial debut, asks that very question as the Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain thriller dials suspense to the max. The film sees Alice and Celine, two traditional housewives, neighbours and best friends live in perfect harmony with successful husbands and sons of the same age. However, this all comes crumbling down as a tragic accident leads to the loss of a son. Guilt and paranoia combine to cause a wedge in their sisterly bond as suspicions of their true intentions rise. Can they get past this tragedy or will it be their undoing?

Never Let Go
Prime Video

This film is the latest psychological thriller from director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes; Crawl) and the creative minds behind Stranger Things and Arrival. With evil hovering over them, the only protection for a mother, played by Oscar-winner Halle Berry, and her twin sons is their house and their family’s protective bond. Needing to stay connected at all times — even tethering themselves with ropes — they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival. This film’s cast also features Matthew Kevin Anderson, Christin Park and Stephanie Lavigne in pivotal roles.

Asteroid City
Netflix

Set in 1955, writer-director Wes Anderson’s last feature outing, hailed as a “retro-futuristic film”, follows a play about a Junior Stargazer convention. The story is about extraterrestrials and UFOs witnessed in the American Southwestern desert in close proximity to atomic test sites after World War II. However, it becomes metatextual because the making of the play is the subject of a television documentary. The comedy drama film, which is written, directed, and produced by Anderson, features an impressive ensemble cast of Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Jeff Goldblum and others.
