‘Salman Khan’s arrival had everyone running helter-skelter’: Sahher Bambba recalls his shoot for The Ba***ds of Bollywood cameo
In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, Sahher Bambba reveals her favourite cameo and character, and where she'd like to see her character go in season 2.

Sahher Bambba, who plays Karishma Talwar in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, is loving all the attention the show has brought her. Apart from being a lead character in a high profile show, this also gave her a chance to shoot with some of the actors she has always admired. Sahher was one of the lucky few who got to shoot with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Her scenes with Emraan Hashmi, also featuruing Raghav Juyal, have been going viral on social media, but she regrets missing shooting with Arshad Warsi. In a chat with SCREEN, Sahher spoke about her most favourite cameos in the series.
“SRK sir, of course! But I got to share screen space with Salman sir. That was a very impromptu moment. It wasn’t in the script,” Sahher tells SCREEN in an exclusive interview. “He just showed up very sweetly. Suddenly, I saw everyone running helter-skelter. I thought, ‘What happened?’ Suddenly, we saw Salman sir walking in. He just gave that shot and left. But it was a moment for me,” she adds.
Salman pops up in The Ba***ds of Bollywood during a party scene, where he calls it a “bullsh*t party,” has a brief chat with Karishma before walking out stealthily. Not only Salman, but also Aamir Khan and SS Rajamouli’s cameos, engaging in the hilarious idli-sambhar vs vada pao debate, was also spontaneous.

But another memorable cameo for Sahher was Emraan Hashmi as a backup intimacy coach. She’s also shared screen space with Hashmi in the music video of B Praak’s romantic track “Ishq Nahi Karte” in 2022. Hashmi is seen training debutante Karishma and her co-star Aasman (Lakshya) for an intimate scene in the series, before Aasman’s childhood friend Parvez (Raghav Juyal), an ardent fan of Hashmi, breaks into the latter’s unforgettable chartbuster “Kaho Na Kaho” from Anurag Basu’s 2004 hit romantic thriller Murder.
“Emraan sir’s films and his songs, specially, have always been classic and iconic,” says Sahher, adding, “I remember shooting for that scene. We were all laughing! Raghav did a couple of takes and variations, and all were equally funny. We cracked up so much! Even the idea of him singing it out, hats off to Aryan for even thinking of a scene like that.”

However, Sahher missed out on shooting with Arshad Warsi, who plays the gangster Gafoor in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. “I love him! It was a surprise element for me also when Aryan told me Arshad sir is doing the part. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet since we didn’t have any scenes together. But I recently met him on the day of the premiere. I congratulated him because I think he’s wonderful as Gafoor,” says Sahher.
She’s also in love with Sukhi, her bodyguard in the show, a gentle giant who’s protective of Karishma, but eventually must obey the orders of his boss and her father Ajay Talwar (Bobby Deol). “He’s so gentle, so so sweet! He’s this giant being who’s such a sweetu! I remember during all the portions we shot in Goa, he wouldn’t even talk much, but he’s very endearing,” says Sahher.
But Sahher’s most favourite character is her spoilt reel-life brother Shoumik (Divik Sharma). “I love my brother,” she says, laughing and admitting that she’d crack up every time he was in the scene. “I’d imagine as an audience, he makes your blood boil. You love to hate him. But that’s because he’s such a great actor that he can evoke that emotion out of you. We had a great time on set. He’s a lovely guy,” she adds.
Much like the fans, Sahher is also hoping for a Season 2. “With Aryan, everything is just a surprise. I may be thinking something, he may write something else, and something entirely different would come out finally,” says Sahher, adding, “I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it. But I’m just praying that if season 1 got so much love, there should be a season 2. That’s all I can say.”
