Just days after Kim Soo Hyun’s entire segment was cut from MBC’s variety show Good Day, another program seems to have followed suit. On April 10, fans noticed that the actor’s face had been completely blurred out in new content featuring HYBE boyband TXT’s Soobin and Beomgyu. This comes amid mounting backlash and legal heat after the actor was scrutinised for allegedly dating a minor. Soobin’s YouTube variety show My Fave’s Fave recently returned for its second season. Though the shoot wrapped a while ago, the show took a brief break before airing its first episode yesterday.

The set featured a background wall decked out with cutouts and posters of beloved K-drama characters including Reply 1988’s Choi Taek played by Park Bo Gum and Sung Deoksun played by Hyeri, The Slave Hunters’ Lee Daegil featuring Jang Hyuk, IU’s Jang Man Wol, Kim Ji Won from Queen of Tears, and many more. But eagle-eyed fans spotted something strange—a face that looked deliberately hidden. Turned out it was none other than Baek Hyun Woo, Kim Soo Hyun’s character from Queen of Tears.

Judging by how prominently his backdrop appeared in the original footage right between Soobin and Beomgyu, it’s clear the production initially wanted to spotlight his popularity post-Queen of Tears. But now, with the controversy hanging over him, it looks like the editors had to go back and erase him from the scene entirely. Throughout the episodes, not once was the show mentioned—despite being the biggest K-drama title of the year—while the rest of the shows were referenced one way or another. Kim Ji Won’s character stayed untouched. Earlier, he was edited out of BIGBANG member G-Dragon’s variety show, where the actor had filmed in person alongside other stars, including CL of 2NE1. However, none of his scenes made it to the final cut. Fellow cast members Yim Si Wan, Code Kunst, Jung Hae In, Hwang Kwang Hee, Jo and members of the band DAY6 reportedly recorded their parts individually.

Kim Soo Hyun-Kim Sae Ron case development

On April 10, Kim Soo Hyun reportedly hired a forensic analysis team to examine the alleged evidence, including screenshots and text messages, released by Garosero and Kim Sae Ron’s family’s legal team. Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, have maintained that the actor did not date Sae Ron when she was a minor and that their brief relationship only began in 2019, after she became an adult. A linguistic report by the Truebaum Institute, commissioned by Soo Hyun, found there’s a high probability—around 95% —that the 2016 messages were fabricated. The analysis compared texts from 2016, 2018, and 2025 and found only an 8% chance that both sets of messages came from the same person. Meanwhile, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho has consistently claimed that both Soo Hyun and Sae Ron were dating other people from 2016 to 2019, directly challenging Garosero’s narrative.
