Kapil Sharma promises turning Shanivaar into Funnyvaar as The Great Indian Kapil Show returns on September 21. Watch

The annoucement came weeks after Kapil Sharma confirmed the return of season 2 on Independence Day. The first season of Kapil’s show streamed in March and concluded on June 22. The show, spanning 13 weeks, hosted several guests including Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Riddhima Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sania Mirza, Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal, Badshah, DIVINE, Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali, Parineeti Chopra, and the entire cast of Heeramandi. However, the response to the shift in pace and platform was muted amid the audience. It is to be seen how the second season manages to conquer the niggles of the first iteration.

Previously, in a statement, Kapil Sharma said, “Collaborating with Netflix for the Great Indian Kapil Show has been a fulfilling experience and on that note, we promise not to keep our audience waiting for too long for the next season. Enjoy the finale episode with Kartik Aaryan this weekend and stay tuned as we gear up for season 2.” The details about the guests attending the show this season is, however, still under wraps.
