Dhanashree Verma responds to claims she demanded mammoth alimony from ex-husband Yuzvendra Chahal: ‘Why did he do it?’

On the latest episode of Rise and Fall, Dhanashree Verma spoke about getting trolled for demanding alimony from Yuzvendra Chahal, a claim she dismissed as false. She said she was hurt over why the character set up the narrative he did.

Actress Dhanashree Verma is currently participating in the reality show Rise and Fall. On the show, the actress revisits her separation and divorce with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal from time to time. Recently, Dhanashree spoke about their split once again and stated that all claims regarding her demanding a specific alimony amount were incorrect. She also shared how she and Yuzvendra were married for 4 years and separated a year ago.

When Aditya Narayan asked Dhanashree how long it had been since her divorce, she said, “Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual, that’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don’t even know you?”

Aditya asked how long they had been married. Dhanashree replied, “We were married for four years, we dated 6-7 months before that.” Nayandeep asked her if, when so many accusations were made with regard to alimony, didn’t she want to speak on it? Dhanashree Verma added, “Eventually, you get hurt when you see that happening. It was not needed. None of it is true. I felt worse wondering why did he do it? It’s okay, I will always keep his respect, that is what I believe in. Now, I don’t think I can date anybody.”

Last week on the show, Dhanashree broke down after her character was questioned on the show. An upset Dhanashree had said, “I have never said anything against anyone on the show, yet I never dragged my personal life on the show. I am told I am getting influenced, but that’s not true; I don’t like this environment.”

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal got divorced in March this year.
