After Hrithik Roshan says he doesn’t agree with the politics of Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar thanks him for ‘celebrating the craft’

Hrithik Roshan has often spoken his mind on social media, even when it means going against popular opinion. One of the most notable examples was in 2022, when he took to X to post a long note praising Laal Singh Chaddha, at a time when the film was facing boycott calls. He recently did something similar when he took to social media to praise Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, while also pointing out its troubling politics. Now, director Aditya Dhar has now responded to Hrithik, expressing gratitude for his appreciation.
Aditya Dhar replied saying: “Deeply humbled by your love for #DHURANDHAR, @iHrithik Sir. Every actor and every department gave more than 100%, and your appreciation is a huge boost for the whole team. Thank you for celebrating their craft. Part 2 is coming and we’ll try our best to live up to this encouragement.”
Interestingly, Aditya Dhar’s reply came in response to Hrithik’s tweet praising the film, rather than his earlier Instagram story, where he had also raised concerns about the film’s politics.

On X, Hrithik had written: “Still can’t get DHURANDHAR out of my mind. @AdityaDharFilms you are an incredible maker man. @RanveerOfficial the silent to the fierce what a journey and so damn consistent. #akshayekhanna has always been my fav and this film is proof why. @ActorMadhavan bloody mad grace, strength and dignity!! But man @bolbedibol what you did was phenomenal.. what an ACT, brilliant!! A huge big round of applause for everyone especially the makeup and prosthetics dept! I can’t wait for part 2!!”

Earlier on Instagram, while appreciating the movie, he had also commented: “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.” In the past few days, several other celebrities, including Ayushmann Khurrana, Karan Johar, and Akshay Kumar, have praised the film. Vicky Kaushal, who had worked with Aditya Dhar on his debut film Uri: The Surgical Strike, also lauded the film. Aditya Dhar’s response hinted that Vicky might appear in Dhurandhar Part 2.
Dhurandhar, aside from Ranveer Singh, features a strong ensemble cast led by Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R.= Madhavan. The sequel is slated for an Eid 2026 release.
