The latest episode of Bigg Boss OTT 2 saw Salman Khan addressing his anger towards Abhishek Malhan. The Bollywood superstar seemed quite upset about the YouTuber talking about his followers and how he ‘deserves’ to win the show. During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Bigg Boss interrupted Salman mid-way through his conversation with a contestant. They then discussed how Salman Khan has more than 100 million followers on social media, while Bigg Boss, Colors TV, and JioCinema too have large numbers combined. The Bollywood star took it from there to speak to Abhishek and pulled him up about his statements regarding his followers.
The actor asked the YouTuber, also known as Fukra Insaan, why he was boasting about his social media numbers. Salman sarcastically thanked Abhishek for making the show popular and helping the team to run their houses. “Aapki wajah se humara ghar, yeh channel chalta hai,” he said.
He then asked Abhishek about his conversation with Jad Hadid, where the latter had mentioned how he has got a section of his followers to the show and the makers should pay that off. The content creator, however, defended himself that his comments were misinterpreted. Salman also played a clip where Abhishek told his mother how Elvish Yadav, who is a wildcard, doesn’t deserve to win.
Salman even asked Abhishek not to run after followers and money but rather build a career where many would follow him. The development made Abhishek Malhan uncomfortable and he apologised to the host. However, he also mentioned how his statements were being misunderstood and he did not mean to put down the show, or any of his fellow contestants.
However, Abhishek Malhan‘s fans did not take Salman Khan’s words kindly as they rallied for his support. “Standing up for yourself when purposely makers and host are trying to bring you down..makes you different from rest #AbhishekMalhan 💖👏 I stan you,cos u made me proud that u dont need anyone to talk for urself💯💖 well said!” a fan wrote, while another added, “Totally loved when Abhishek explained himself and took stand for himself in front of salman💯 He doesn’t need to monetize his videos, cos his intentions regarding the show is to do good for people 💖…”
A section of the audience, however, also supported Salman for showing Abhishek the mirror and calling out his arrogance. A user wrote, “Salman Khan destroyed whole YouTuber community in just few seconds… #BigBossOTT2,” as another added, “Abhishek is good but he shouldn’t believe himself to be the best.”
This Sunday, one among Jad Hadid, Manisha Rani, Jiya Shankar and Avinash Sachdev would get evicted. The reality show will stream its finale on August 14.
