Following the exciting announcement of Bhuvan Bam as the new commentator for the Indian reboot of the beloved 90s game show Takeshi’s Castle, the show’s producers have treated fans to a promo and revealed the release date. The show will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 2.

In the comical video, Bhuvan takes on the role of a salesman who finds himself in a precarious situation when he’s kidnapped by some debtors due to an unpaid loan. To pay the debt, Bhuvan is asked to dub Takeshi’s Castle in Hindi on gunpoint. The comedian and YouTuber has lent his famous character Titu Mama’s voice to the show. Watch the promo here:

It’s important to note that Bhuvan Bam has stepped into the shoes of the previous commentator, Jaaved Jaaferi, who was synonymous with the show. While many fans are extending a warm welcome to Bhuvan in his new role, many are doubtful if he would be able to match Jaaferi’s humour and comic timing.

Supporting Bhuvan, a fan wrote, “Can only imagine the amount of laughter this is going to bring for us!” Another fan wrote, “Bestest man too dub this show😂tituu mama.” Criticising the comedian, a fan wrote, “BB is good, but he can’t match even closer to Legend Javed Jaffery.” Another fan, however, asked for Jaaved and Bhuvan’s collaboration. He wrote, “Bhai best of luck and I hope that in one episode you and Javed jafferi sir collab.”

In response to his role in this iconic show, Bhuvan Bam shared his thoughts in a statement: “Since the original version of Takeshi’s Castle graced our television screens, I have been an enthusiastic fan of the concept, execution, and the sheer hilarity of the game-show. It’s highly nostalgic for me, having grown up watching the show, and now being able to lend my voice to it feels like a genuine full-circle moment. I believe there isn’t a person in my generation who hasn’t loved and enjoyed this zany comedy. Being a part of this incredible game-show is both a privilege and an honor. As an entertainer, my viewers have always embraced the unique yet relatable characters I’ve portrayed, and I am delighted to infuse a touch of my creativity as ‘Titu Mama.’ I’m optimistic that the younger generation will embrace this show with the same affection we did.”
