Actor Anil Kapoor has been a part of the entertainment industry for 45 years, and while his journey has seen its share of ups and downs, he is now venturing into the reality television space as the host of Bigg Boss OTT 3. At the show's press conference, Anil Kapoor told Indianexpress.com why he chose to take up hosting despite having fostered a successful career in Bollywood. He said, "I am at the stage of my career where I want to do something I have never done before. I have done non-fiction in a way, in a film called Slumdog Millionaire, which was a global success. I have done films, OTT, and TV, and this was one thing I had not done, so thought why not try it? I am excited and very happy to do it." You should never be scared of failures, if I had been scared, I would not have been around for 45 years." Given the controversial nature of the show, Anil was asked how he plans to navigate through the daily controversies. He said, "The biggest of stalwarts have hosted Bigg Boss in the past, and they have only gained more respect after the show. It is on you, how to handle those controversies, there are times when someone comes into that kind of a situation that it has to be the true scent of the show and of yourself too. Even when I did 24, people told me I was a big screen actor, so why would I choose TV? When I did The Night Manager.
