With the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections currently underway, both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are abuzz with people flocking to their assigned polling stations to exercise their franchise in the biggest festival of democracy. Along with lakhs of citizens, Telugu film stars have also been making a beeline for polling booths.

Now, photos and videos of the Tollywood A-listers arriving to cast their votes have gone viral. Among the biggies who have already exercised their franchise are Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, celebrated director SS Rajamouli, Oscar-winning music composer MM Keeravani, “Power Star” Pawan Kalyan, National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun, Telugu star NTR Jr, filmmaker Teja, and actors Srikanth, Manchu Manoj and Kota Srinivasa Rao, among others.

After casting his vote in Hyderabad, along with his wife Surekha Konidela, Chiranjeevi spoke to the media and urged citizens to practice their voting rights without fail. “You have to vote because you are in a democracy. I request people to exercise their right to vote. Please come and make use of your power,” the Padma Vibhushan awardee requested.

Chiranjeevi’s brother and Jana Sena Party chief “Power Star” Pawan Kalyan, meanwhile, cast his vote at a polling booth in Mangalagiri. In Andhra Pradesh, voting for the Assembly elections and the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections is taking place simultaneously today.

RRR helmer Rajamouli, who was spotted at his designated polling booth in Hyderabad along with his son SS Karthikeya, spoke to the media after the process. “Show the country that we are responsible and we do care. Please come out and vote…,” Rajamouli said. “I request everyone to come and exercise your vote. It is our responsibility and we need to fulfil that…,” Karthikeya noted. The director came from Dubai to Hyderabad to cast his vote.

“Please cast your vote. It is the responsibility of all the citizens of the country. Today is the most crucial day for the next 5 years of our lives. There will be a huge voter turnout, as more and more people are coming out to vote. I would like to say, I am not politically aligned with any party. I am neutral to all parties,” Allu Arjun noted while speaking to the media in Telangana’s capital city.

Filmmaker Teja, known for his work in Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, and Jayam, spoke to the news agency ANI after casting his vote. “Don’t sit at home. Step out and vote so that you don’t complain later that your government is not good.”
