Pushpa 2’s success is a testament to its enduring appeal and the loyalty of its fan base. Pushpa 2: The Rule has been able to withstand the challenge posed by new releases, including Malayalam film — Mohanlal’s directorial — Barroz and Kannada film Max, which were released on Christmas. The film’s ability to dominate the box office even in its third week is a remarkable achievement, and it remains to be seen how it will perform in the coming weeks as it completes a month in theatres.

According to Sacnilk Pushpa 2 has achieved a monumental milestone, becomign only the third Indian film to surpass the Rs 1500 crore mark. This impressive feat solidifies its position as the second-highest grosser in India, behind Baahubali 2, and notably, the highest nett earner, surpassing all previous records. It’s also the third-biggest Indian film globally, behind Baahubali 2 and Dangal.

In a separate development, the team of Pushpa 2 has donated Rs 2 crore to the family of a stampede victim who died during the film’s premiere. The donation was announced by Allu Aravind (Allu Arjun’s father and film producer), who said that the team had come together to support the family and the victim’s young son, who is still recovering in hospital. The donation includes Rs 1 crore from Allu Arjun, Rs 50 lakh from Mythri Movie Makers, and Rs 50 lakh from director Sukumar.

The stampede incident had resulted in the death of a woman and the hospitalisation of her son, and Allu Arjun had faced legal consequences for attending the premiere, which was deemed to have contributed to the stampede-like situation. The actor was arrested on December 13 and released on interim bail the next day. The incident has sparked a debate about the responsibility of celebrities and event organisers to ensure public safety, and the donation by the Pushpa 2 team is seen as a gesture of goodwill and accountability.
