Delhi Confidential: New Face

Government officials are anticipating a new face in the Ministry of Finance with the appointment of MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary as the BJP president of Uttar Pradesh. He was absent from the Chintan Shivir at Hampi held last week, which was attended by officials from the ministries of Finance and Corporate Affairs. Officials say Chaudhary is warm and helpful and would be present at all key events of the Finance Ministry.

Uniform Policy

The Indian Army has issued a stern advisory to all its formations against donation of its uniforms to private entities for recycling. The Army noted that certain non-military personnel have been approaching units to donate uniforms which are recycled to make accessories and other products. It said the practice is in violation of the regulations and Army uniforms need to be discarded in a manner appropriate to the ethos and pride associated with it. The advisory reiterated that recycling of used Army uniforms by private entities is strictly prohibited and disciplinary action will be initiated against those violating the rule. The Indian Army has moved towards achieving sole ownership of its uniforms and has obtaıned IPRs for two of its uniforms.
