Prabhas’ look and name from Kalki 2898 AD out: ‘From the future streets of Kasi…’

The latest poster of Kalki 2898 AD has Prabhas sporting a man-bun and futuristic glasses. The costume, the setting, and everything about the movie give hints about the rustic dystopia the makers are trying to achieve. Prabhas’ name in the film is Bhairava, which has a lot to do with time and death in Hindu mythology. It seems Nag Ashwin is coming up with a film that might look at India in the future.

Other than Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also has Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in important roles. Given the scale and ambition of the project, the film has been on floors for a long time, and it is yet uncertain when it will see the light of day.

With music by Santhosh Narayanan, Kalki 2898 AD is perhaps the biggest venture in the making currently in the country. With mounting expectations, it has to be seen if Nag Ashwin will quench them all.
