Nani reacts to Arshad Warsi calling Prabhas a ‘joker’ in Kalki 2898 AD: ‘This must be the most publicity he has got in his life’

Arshad Warsi’s comments on Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD have not gone down well with his fans and many other stars in the Telugu film industry. After Sudheer Babu and director Ajay Bhupathi, now actor Nani has also joined in to criticise Arshad’s comments. During a press conference of his latest film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, when the actor was asked about Arshad’s comments, the actor implied that Arshad was getting the “most publicity” of his life because of his comments and called it an “unimportant matter.”

Nani said, “The person that you’re referring to, this must be the most publicity he has got in his life. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter.” Arshad, in a chat on Unfiltered by Samdish, had said that Prabhas was “like a joker” in Kalki 2898 AD. Arshad said, “I am really sad. Prabhas was like a joker. I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa? Mujhe nahin samajh mein aata (What have you made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand).”

The comment was not welcomed by Prabhas’ fans and other actors and directors in Telugu cinema. RX100 director Ajay Bhupathi said, “Prabhas is the man who has given everything & will do anything to take Indian cinema to the world audience, a pride of our nation. We can see the jealousy on the film, and him in your eyes just because you’ve faded out & no one gives an eye to you. There’s a limit & a way to express our opinion… Seems like you’re the one that you’ve said about him.”

Sudheer Babu also spoke about Arshad’s comments and said, “It’s okay to criticise constructively but it’s never okay to bad-mouth. Never expected the absence of professionalism from Arshad Warsi. Prabhas’ stature is too big for comments coming from small minds.”

Kalki 2898 AD released in theatres in June and became the most successful film of the year. The Nag Ashwin film also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Hassan.
