Australian cricketer David Warner to make his acting debut in Robinhood
In a promotional event, the makers revealed that David Warner is set to make his big screen debut with the Venky Kudumula film Robinhood, headlined by Nithiin and Sreeleela.

One of the more shocking takeaways of the latest Indian Premier League auction was Australian batsman David Warner remaining unsold. With no takers for the enterprising cricketer, it was a sad state of affairs for his fans, who not only enjoyed his cricketing abilities, but also developed a fascination for his histrionics in the form of reels and dance videos. Such has been his fame that he has not only received warm responses from Allu Arjun for breaking a leg to the “Butta Bomma” song, but also featured in an advertisement with RRR director SS Rajamouli. Nevertheless, even if he won’t be satisfying his cricket fans this IPL season, it has now come to light that fans of Warner’s entertaining acts on camera have a reason to be happy.

Mythri Movie Makers, who backed the blockbuster film, Pushpa 2, are ready with their next, Robinhood. In a promotional event, the makers revealed that Warner is set to make his big screen debut with the Venky Kudumula film, headlined by Nithiin and Sreeleela. Warner, who became a household name in the Telugu states after his stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad, has since developed a distinct fan following for dancing to Telugu songs along with his family.
In a video shared on social media, Mythri Movie Makers’ Ravi Shankar shares the information, albeit with a little trepidation because he was revealing the secret that was held close to their chest for all this while. In fact, Robinhood was initially supposed to hit the screens on December 25. However, it was rescheduled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ that also included the blockbuster run of Pushpa 2, which was released earlier that month.
This is not the first time an Australian cricketer is starring in an Indian film as Brett Lee played the lead in the Indo-Australian film, Unindian. Nevertheless, this is going to be quite an interesting cameo for sure considering Warner is known for his goofiness and unabashed embracing of the trends of the digital era.

Meanwhile, Robinhood is set to hit the screens on March 28, and marks director Venky Kudumula’s third straight collaboration with actor Nithiin after Chalo and Bheeshma. With music by GV Prakash Kumar, and cinematography by Sai Sriram, Robinhood is the second film to feature Nithiin and Sreeleela as the leads after Vakkantham Vamsi’s Extraordinary Man (2023).
