Khatron Ke Khiladi is set to be back on television with Rohit Shetty returning as the host. Known for his action films, the director shared he is excited to return to the show, as hosting it makes him ‘happy’. Recently, he even shared a video announcing the show calling it the ‘most entertaining season’.
In a chat with indianexpress.com, Rohit shared that this time there are maximum new stunts. “We have tried to bring something new this year. Also, the interactions and segments are hilarious. It’s like an action-comedy show this time. When you are shooting, you get the feel that it’s going right, and that’s what we too understood. While we are working with the same team for years, every year 15 new people come in. There are a lot of new action-packed stunts, new cars for audiences. It was a task for us but after 50 days, when we pulled it off, I was quite happy,” he shared.

During Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, Karan Johar admitted to The Indian Express that he needs to sugar-coat his comments as actors have fragile egos. However, Rohit Shetty has always been straightforward, and quite a taskmaster. When asked about the same, the host said, “I think first of all it’s the format. For me, I take it as a responsibility. It’s a difficult show and the audience needs to know that. When the contestants arrive and are supposed to perform a stunt, they don’t know that the prep for the same has been going on for 60 days, and two days prior to the on-set performance. It’s important for the contestants and audience to realise the difficult work we do.”
He added, “Also, a stunt can go wrong at any time, and thus they need to behave in a certain manner. You need to keep your ears open and hear me, for their own safety as things can go wrong anytime. So you need to be strict when you need to be, otherwise, you are happy and in a friendly mood and cracking jokes. So it’s a teacher and friend-like equation. But I like to keep it real and the contestants need to know that the audiences are watching them. It’s a responsibility on them and they cannot take it lightly.”
The industry swears by Rohit Shetty on Khatron Ke Khiladi as there’s ‘no one like him’ to host the show. When asked about the same, the filmmaker said, “I don’t know. I am happy doing it. I cannot deny that. But I can’t say I am the best. Till the time Colors and the audience want me, I will continue to host it.”
