Pavitrra Punia reveals she faced financial constraints post Bigg Boss exit, had thoughts of suicide: ‘Darkest period of my life’

Pavitrra Punia, who started her acting journey with television shows, gained recognition for her participation in reality shows like MTV Splitsvilla 3 in 2009 and Bigg Boss 14 in 2020. In a recent candid conversation, the actor shed light on the financial challenges she faced post her exit from the Bigg Boss house, which subsequently took a toll on her mental well-being.

During an interview with ETimes, Pavitrra recounted the financial strain she experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic due to delayed payments. However, her struggle intensified after leaving the Bigg Boss house as she found it difficult to secure work in the entertainment industry. Describing it as the ‘darkest period’ of her life, Pavitrra disclosed that she ran out of all her earnings that she garnered from participating in Bigg Boss. She emphasised the importance of taking responsibility, stating, “It’s not about being wealthy, but rather about accountability. For example, if I’m in a hospital, I wouldn’t ask my mother for her credit or debit card. It’s a child’s responsibility.”

Adding her challenges, Pavitrra Punia revealed that her father met with an accident approximately a month after her exit from the Bigg Boss house. The subsequent one and a half years were marked by struggles, depression for her. She revealed that she even had thoughts of suicide. The actor expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support that helped her come back from this dark phase of her life.

Pavitrra’s latest appearance was in the TV show Ishq Ki Dastaan – Naagmani, where she shared the screen with Aleya Ghosh and Karam Rajpal in the lead roles.
