She said, “How can I take credit for standing up for my family. If not me, who would have done it? Who would have stood up for my mother, brother? Only I would have to stand up for them… If you are not loyal to your family, you cannot be loyal to anyone in life. The difficulties that we have gone during that time, it’s hard to describe. My younger brother Shabbi, he used to remember Sheezan day and night when he was put behind the bars, and we were not able to tell him when his brother would be able to return home. We took him to meet Sheezan in jail, I couldn’t go because I did not have the courage to face Sheezan. They both stood opposite windows and Shabbi was crying continuously and asking when he he’ll return home.”

Falaq then opened up about how she supported her family during this time. She said, “Maine kaise sambhala hai main he jaanti hoon (Only I know how I managed)… people were saying at that time karma is a b***h, indeed karma is a b***h. I am scared of attachments now and it is because of this incident (Tunisha Sharma’s suicide). Hum darte hain… ghabrate hain attachments se...”

Tunisha was reportedly suffering from mental illnesses, and Sheezan was aware of her health conditions and had advised her to seek medical help. About this, Falaq said, “We can’t even suggest doctor to anybody, we get scared. Humanity is dead now. People are now saying that I have come on the show to whitewash my family’s image, yes I will do that. I don’t need to whitewash anyone’s image. Joh cheez hui nahi hai… usko karne ki zarurat nahi… joh jaisa hai woh waise rahega. If you want to say things, keep saying at my expense. The things we have gone through nobody else can even think of going through.”

“There’s not a single day when I don’t get hurt or don’t feel the pain remembering the incident,” Falaq concluded, as Pooja Bhatt consoled her. Pooja appreciated Falaq’s bravery.
